I just came across this incredibly simple proof
that the W-Wall is impossible, so I bring the short
proof here.

Proof made 1971 by: Richard M. Naylor. Denver. Colorado.
Look at the corners of the W-Wall.
Each piece can contribute at most to one corner cube, except
the pieces 2 and 3 they can, at best supply 2 corner cubes each.
This gives a total of 7 + 2 = 9 corner cubes.
Since there are 10 corner cubes in the W-Wall. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE.
